Log Slitting

Since we started converting tapes in 1989, we have used our log slitters to slit low tack protection and cloth duct tapes. We now use our log slitting machines to produce our own foam tapes, glazing tapes and general adhesive tapes.

We use two techniques to produce our tapes, both of which cut large rolls of materials into narrower rolls: log slitting and rewind slitting. While log slitting treats the roll of material as one whole, taking slices from the material without unrolling it, rewind slitting unwinds and rewinds the material.

We have three slitter re-winders that can be used to convert longer-length reels into narrower long-length machine rolls. These slitter re-winders can also convert long length reels down into smaller log rolls for slitting to narrow widths on one of our five automatic lathe slitters. These lengths can be as small as 6mm.

The log slitting process offers several advantages. Firstly, it is a low-cost process, making it excellent for producing tape on a budget. Secondly, it offers excellent precision of slitting, making it ideal for mass production. This is due to the machine’s ability to automatically position the slitting knives, control the tension of the material, and align the cores onto which the material is rewound.

With our excellent range of log slitting machines, we have the capability to slit almost any material either with or without adhesive coating. That makes it easy for us to produce bespoke tape, no matter what the application you plan to use it for.
